What is it in me
that’s reaching for you
Tell me can you
feel it too
Never before
have I been so sure
Never have I felt
a love so pure
Our lives are so similar
yours and mine
As if God knew
one day in time
Together we’d cross
this path as one
As if our lives
had just begun
Our hearts are focused
Our minds are pure
True love is what we’re
reaching for

Throughout my life I've found the strength required to overcome many challenges through poetry. Learning to let go, to hold on, to say yes, to say no, to fail, to succeed. To positively touch one heart, one life, one teenager, one adult, one decision in another’s life; this is my dream. Read with me and share your thoughts. My ultimate goal is to create a book of poetry that includes thoughts and feedback from those that are touched or inspired by my poems.

Unborn Eyes
The brightest eyes I’ve ever seen;
came to me last night in a dream.
“Hold on, Hold on, Please be strong;
for in your arms is where I belong”.
And oh the love, I felt through those eyes,
was stronger than any words can describe.
Unconditional, precious and oh so sweet,
that which would make our lives complete.
Within those eyes were answers,
to questions from the past,
Knowing we’d created a love,
that would forever last.
As gently as the image came,
it slowly faded away,
But not before I heard the words,
to me you'd softly say;
“Follow the beating of your heart,
until your falling tears have stopped.
Let go of the sadness you carry within,
let it go and let love in.
The choice is yours, which path to take.
Just know that where it leads I pray;
Is back to my arms forever to stay”.
Then full of hope those tiny eyes,
held my heart one last time.
And in my heart to him I’d say;
“Yes, my precious unborn ones,
who’s lives have yet begun;
I will hold on, I will be strong
and one day you shall see,
Those same brown eyes loving you,
found their way back to me”.

Our Prayer
Lord don’t let us turn away
You know what our lips are afraid to say
Lord don’t let us try to run
For only you know the path we’ve begun
Lord don’t let us shut you out
You know the pain our lives are about
Lord don’t let us try to pretend
that our hearts don’t need a chance to mend
Lord please help us find a way
to break the silence forever today
Lord when we stumble
Lord when we fall
Help us trust in you for our all

Mount Hermon
If ever there was a magical place
I’m surrounded here by your embrace
Upon the wind and through the trees
Your music fills the gentle breeze
As though your heart is reaching out
Love is what this place is about
For here in the silence
I hear your voice
It’s here I feel my heart rejoice
Your spirit has filled my very soul
My love for you is the ultimate goal
For here I’m covered by your grace
Thank you lord for this magical place

It's You
I've seen through the eyes
of a childless life
Lived through the hardships
of sorrow and strife
What once I never thought
would come my way
I realized was wrong
when I met you that day
All at once my life was changed
and slowly things were rearranged
Now through these eyes
It’s hope I see
From this love
that has grown inside of me
The depths of my love
I want you to know
Never will
I let you go
I'm here with you
forever to stay
My life with you
to share each day
I hope some way
I've made you see
It's only you
I want for me

Lost Love
Sometimes it's hard -
to remember when
We weren't just lovers -
but best of friends
Our secret dreams -
we knew to keep
Holding each other -
sometimes we'd sleep
Safe and secure -
we'd always be
How were we -
our future to see
To wake one day -
lying beside
Two people who's love -
had slowly died

Can't Let You In
So empty -
I now feel inside.
There's nowhere I
can run to hide
Betrayed by you,
no that's not true
Why can't I let go,
if only you knew
You watch, you listen,
just waiting to find -
Some way, anyway,
into my mind.
If only you
could understand
This life I've led
that wasn't planned.
Afraid somehow
that you will see;
All that's buried
deep in me.
